What instrument is that anyway...
I don't think we have any Music Lads here
We'd have to ask Andrew.
Or Sol.
Or Bonzai.
So, the party is travelling to some tower. On the way, they were attacked by an enraged ent.
But that all worked out
now we have recruited the ent
this party takes up even more space now
The Ent has escorted them to the edge of the forest, where they can see in the distance their destination.
"What an abominable sight in the middle of this nice forest..."
A tall tower lies in the center of some plains. At it's peak, you can see a broken roof.
Oh see, those are the worst kinds of towers.
The Ent bids them farewell, hoping the party can stop the quakes.
Manu Palila says goodbye in Sylvan, now that he remembered that that's the plant language.
"How forget plant language?"
"Treeman spoke it"
They continue on in their cart. Getting closer, they can see now, a piece of the crystal is visible near the broken roof. It's sparking slightly too.
"I was under a rather lot of stress, I'll have you know."
"Not see treeman often as druid?"
The Ent replies in Common, because he speaks that too.
"I hardly see intelligence in my line of work."
"Relaxing, really. But also yes, somewhat boring. Anyway, look! A crystal!"
"Wonder if it starts at the top of the bottom"
*or
Nearing the base now, the cart passes a run down farm that clearly hasn't seen attention in a while.
"Looks like all the locals have been driven away."
It's not a large farm, it's likely just built to feed a couple of people.
Takaanu looks for edibles around the farm
At least, from what you know about farming.
You find a rotten pumpkin.
Oceans don't have many farms
nothing growing?
There is some forageable foods, if you really want them.
Surely my nature knowledge would help with faming!
farming*
The majority has been taken over by weeds though.
weird that nothing would be left behind
if you want go ahead

we claim this farm
it is ours now
You believe this farm hasn't been worked for about 4-6 months.
"Quite a long time... how odd."
It was used to grow a variety of produce, potatoes, pumpkins...other plants
this world is only potatoes and pumpkins
Very important to have hard vegetables.
The base of the tower is quite near the farm now, so you park the cart here.
Let's remember to put on the parking brake.
Takaanu shoves a stick between the wheels
"Eh, close enough."
Manu Palila looks up at the tower.
"...bit large"
any windows?
"This tower is considerably more detailed than I thought from afar."
You climb some steps that lead to the entrance.
why am I getting Metroid vibes from this music
It's quite impressive up close.
It's very much not Metroid, but I can kinda hear it.
listen its hard to do round things with a grid
:b
"What a nice shade of purple this door is."
"Getting feeling that wizard very good are wizarding"
So, I'm just gonna do the obvious first thing here.
And fly up to the top and see if I can see anything interesting through the broken roof.
But why not!
cause you're not a bird
I'm a bird
let me do it
The crystal is sparking fairly wildly. You can get close if you like, but it's clearly dangerous.
I mean, I have no intentions of landing up there.
I just wanted to see if there's anything besides a giant crackling crystal up there.
Alright, then.
You're just using the Fly spell right
Nah, I'll probably fly with Akamai.
I'll catch you if you fall
I should save my magic for inside the tower.
The tower is very tall, so it takes some time for Akamai to get you high enough.
You keep your distance, and peek in through the roof.
You can make out the room within, it's a large room with a massive shard of the crystal in it's center. Smaller shards float around the broken roof.
"Right, bad juju up here."
It looks like some kind of study area.
As a wizard you can tell another wizard has been cooped up here.
It's just wizard things.
"Basic laboratory equipment, scholastic tomes..."
surprise we found Elif's tower
"Alright Akamai, let's rejoin the others."
Akamai hoots.
Floating back down, you rejoin the party.
"An incredibly large shard of the weird crystal, with some levitating fragments. Nobody seems to be up there right now."
"Although someone does go there occasionally, there's a fair amount of research equipment."
"Is tower. If wizard here, we find."
"He's most likely just a few floors down from up there."
"Really hoping this just misunderstanding"
"That's always the hope, my friend."
"Rarely seems to be the case, though."
"Odd, that."
Lux checks the door. To his surprise, it's actually not locked.
oh deer
I wanted
to go inside
but I can't
why
Just some pog permission issues.
shock!!
I shall summon myself
excellent
Takaanu checks for traps
You're quite confident the door isn't trapped.
Takaanu walks on in
"Ah by the heavens, not choices!"
This first room opens into a large hall, containing three doors.
All three doors are identical. A silver hand, blue frame.
As a side note, you notice this room is really dusty. It doesn't seem like anyone's been here for a while.
"Wizard not eat???"
Manu Palila leans down and wipes up some of the dust.
Are you going to try and open one?
uhhh
did that perception check for traps?
My clones and I shall stay back here.
You notice these doors have some magic to them.
Whether it's harmful or not you aren't sure.
Takaanu pulls out a shuriken
Maybe someone is good with magic?

| At will, an arcane champion can use detect magic, as the spell. An arcane champion can, as a move action, concentrate on a single item or individual within 60 feet and determine if it is magic, learning the strength of its aura as if having studied it for 3 rounds. While focusing on one individual or object, the arcane champion does not detect magic in any other object or individual within range. |
Lux inspects the magic. The three doors all seem to be connected to each other in some way.
The magic isn't very high level, so he doesn't think it's dangerous.
"Some sort of arcane network is here. Strange, but probably not lethal."
Takaanu opens this door
As soon as you grasp the handle, the middle door swings open...
"Trap?"
why are you sorry? I did this
Within are two horrible jellyfish creatures. They lunge forward to attack Lux...and poof! They disappear just before grabbing him.
Lux blinks.
"..."
"Shiny man feel well??"
The middle door now leads to an empty room.
"Please take your hand off the door handle."
So you have two choices remaining.
what if
Takaanu touches this door again
Nothing happens this time.
You and your statistical shenanigans!
"Switch door"
Lux walks over and opens the right door.
Click! It opens, revealing a hallway.
"..."
Takaanu pokes this door
"Any, uh, particular reason you did that?"
That door is open already.
"I know a lot about magic halls."
By the way, I should have mentioned before, but there was a sign outside letting you know that this place is called the Tower of Pelor.
I knew it was called that already.
every towers gotta have a name
It's the name of the song!
The jukebox is a handy source of information.
This hallway looks clear of traps. There's one door, and at the end, some stairs leading up.
Takaanu opens this door
"Well, up seems to be the most logical choice of progress, so..."
"Oh, sure, that then."
"Don't want things behind us"
It opens into a small study.
just a general check of this room
its only 5 Takaanu's across
You look around. There's a small table, a magically lit candle on the wall, and some scattered papers and maps.
The maps seem to be of the local area, and you find some planning blueprints for the tower.
Takaanu sketches a rough copy of the map and blueprints
Lux does a quick once-over of the obviously potentially magical things in here.
Mostly the candle and papers.
The blueprints are not as detailed as you'd like, only really describing the structural, non-magical parts of the tower.
You can see that it has six floors, though.
might still be useful
"Six floors...hmmm..."
anything that looks like a living space?
"The floors must be pretty high, for how tall this tower is."
If you had to guess, the fifth floor seems like a cosy area.
"Wizard might be on fifth floor"
"If anywhee"
You look around some more, and find what appears to be a torn page from a journal.
"I probably could've told you that he'd be on the fifth floor. He's not on the top, and he's probably going to be as high as possible."
Here it is.
I'll just paste it into the log for good measure.
"So, here we are. He said he wanted to study that crystal, but we also wanted to settle down somewhere. I thought, why not combine the two ideas? The tower is complete, after a few months of work, and we moved in today. Aron's already hard at work studying, but that's the type of person he is, hard working, focused, passionate in his own way. That's why I married him, after all. I'll have to make sure to pull him away from time to time though, he tends to get too focused for his own good. Anyway, it's time for bed... - Gylan"
What's he doing in this game!
He got sick of being a pokemon.
"But...why eating food?"
"Getting food elsewhere?"
I'm going to assume you completely forgot about the rogue named Aron in WotF.
I just remembered now yes
It's a common name!
Okay...
"Reasonable people, hopefully."
Takaanu peaks over
Okay, I'll show you the next room, but I'll probably stop here...
Righto.
There's no lights!
Oh, there they are.
... what wizard's chess bullshit is going to happen here.
You notice on the floor, a series of blue tiles, 5 by 5.
On the bottom left, there's a pillar, lit with a magic flame of some kind.
A similar unlit pillar is on the top right.
breath of the wild time
gotta get that blue flame over to the other pillar
Oh look, a convenient stone slab by the exit door.
I have a sneaking suggestion it has a hint for this puzzle.
It's a double door, it's fine.
The slab appears to be a button. On the wall next to it is a small chute coming out of the wall.
I wish I were a high enough level to get that ethereal step ninja talent
that've been hilarious
I mean, if the goal was just to get to the top, I could just use Earth Glide.
So, I'll let you push the button if you want, but we'll be stopping there I'm afraid.
But that would be cheating.
Yes and then you wouldn't get to play wizard chess.
Does Takaanu strike you as someone who wouldn't cheat?
So who's really winning here?
And before you ask, yes Earth Glide does actually work on manmade stone.
Unlike most of my rock spells.
man, how do dungeons exist in this game at all
seems like spells can break everything :b
anti-magic fields and wards
They sure can break everything.
There's a reason casters are supreme.
horribly unbalanced
though ninjas get some of that
Here I thought of a bullshit reason you can't do that, the walls have METAL in them
bonk
That'll work right
Shame, I'll just have to use Passwall instead.
(metal does actually block earth glide though)
I mean you can also just straight up teleport
Who wants to push a button
(can't control our pogs)
Takaanu pushes the button
Okay, you hear a thudding from the chute.
Urp. That pog needs fixing.
:b
A small construct falls out.
it looks like that ball enemy from Maple Story
Some stone ball with a purple flame inside. It attacks you!
This is where we'd roll init.
next time on Multiclass Ball Z
Gasp...
He went and took more music from lod!
yeah i just kept playing songs from it on fanburst
i cant believe i havent heard this ost before
Legend of Dragoon has a fuckin' rad soundtrack.
So yeah, next time, fight!
Puzzle Fight!
Que Mopp showing up???
pls???
:P
At this point he is definitely asleep.
puzzle fights are the best because kahena can't ruin them with his absurd power
he did something then
probably
We'll see!
Kahena goes and breaks the door down.
surprise, the Dino has superb intellect
Kahena uses Ghost Step
It's made from anti-dinosaur materials.
Kahena gasps.
darn, that's me out too then
They're canon materials I put them in the world anvil.
We'll end it here. The note you found is in your handouts.
Make sure to actually turn the music off this time!
don't wanna run all the time
Last week I came in here on sunday and the jukebox was still running.
By the way you really avoided a nasty fight back there, you lucky jerks. :b
we don't have enough Rock to handle it
did we?
I figured there was something behind the left door.
Takaanu was very tempted to open it anyways
It was more jellyfish things.
I was willing to bet my Definitely 2/3 Chances.
Oh, weird.
This version of the soundtrack has the ending sting.
Didn't expect that.

I was gonna throw these at you.
Oh gosh these guys.
They show up in a midgame part of Strange Aeons.
They can make you forget all your spells for a bit
they come back i think but that's pretty nasty
I don't think I can sneak attack these...
I hope you enjoyed the Monty Hall Hall.
it was fine by me
I found some notes
Alright then, see y'all later.
